Paul Goldean
President and Chief Executive Officer, Scottish Re Group Limited

Paul Goldean was reappointed President and Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 2009.  Prior to his reappointment, he served as our Chief Administrative Officer from August 2007 to December 2008.  From July 2006 to August 2007 he was our President and Chief Executive Officer and also served on our Board.  From February 2004 to July 2006, Paul served as our Executive Vice President and General Counsel with responsibility for strategic transactions and capital markets. Paul joined us in February 2002 as our Senior Vice President and General Counsel.

Prior to joining the Company, Paul worked at Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue from March 2000 to February 2002 where his responsibilities included acting as outside counsel to Scottish Re. From 1997 to 2000, Paul worked with the law firm of Strasburger & Price, L.L.P.  Prior to starting his professional career, Paul enlisted into the U.S. Army and served as a member of the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.

Paul holds a J.D. from Southern Methodist University and received a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Texas at El Paso.

Meredith Ratajczak, FSA, MAAA
President and Chief Executive Officer, Scottish Re (U.S.), Inc.

Meredith assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer in February 2009.  Previously, Meredith was Chief Actuary and Interim Chief Financial Officer for Scottish Re U.S.  Meredith joined the company in 2006. 

Prior to joining Scottish Re as Chief Actuary of Scottish Re's North American segment, Meredith was a Principal and Consulting Actuary at Milliman for nineteen years. She has also worked as an actuary for Investors Life Insurance Company of North America and Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company.  Meredith served on the planning committee for the Valuation Actuary Symposium for twelve years, four of those years serving as Chairperson.  She also served on the faculty of the Life and Health Qualification Seminar for two years. 

Meredith holds a B.B.A. with a major in Finance from Penn State University.  She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).

Michael Baumstein
Executive Vice President, Investments and Capital Markets, Scottish Re Group Limited

Michael is the Executive Vice President, Investments and Capital Markets of Scottish Re Group Limited. Michael is also President of Scottish Re Broker/Dealer, Scottish Re Capital Markets.

Michael is currently responsible for the Scottish Re Group Limited investment function as well as developing and executing the Company capital markets strategies. Prior to his current role, Michael led the Company corporate finance initiatives, and was the firm liaison with rating agencies and investors.

Before joining Scottish Re, Michael was an investment banker, with a specialty in financial institutions corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions at Bear Stearns and Prudential Securities. He also held finance and strategy positions at PriceWaterhouse Coopers and Scudder Kemper Investments.

Michael holds a B.A. in Economics from Rutgers University and an M.B.A. from Columbia University.

Gregg Klingenberg
General Counsel, Scottish Re Group Limited

Gregg assumed the role of General Counsel in January 2009.  In this capacity, Gregg is responsible for the overall legal and regulatory affairs of the Company and its affiliates.  Previously, Gregg served as Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel for Scottish Holdings, Inc. and Vice President, Legal Counsel for the Company’s North American operating subsidiaries. 

Prior to joining Scottish Re in February 2006, Gregg practiced in the Charlotte office of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, focusing primarily on capital markets transactions. Gregg formerly was in-house counsel to the investment division of Great-West Life & Annuity Insurance Company and an associate in the Denver office of Kutak Rock, LLP, where his practice focused on structured finance and general corporate matters.

Gregg holds a J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from Nazareth College.

Dan Roth
Chief Restructuring Officer, Scottish Re Group Limited

Dan leads the Scottish Re transition program focused on operational effectiveness.  He is a member of the Scottish Re Executive Committee, allowing him to help drive operational efficiencies between the Company’s business segments.

Prior to joining Scottish Re, Dan spent the last year with Cerberus Capital Management L.P. on its operations team focused on financial and operational due diligence in the insurance, media, and information technology industries. His previous experience includes ten years with the General Electric Company, most recently as the Manager of Finance for GE Money personal loan business in Japan.  Dan also led GE Money global capital allocation program in Stamford, CT, implementing risk based capital allocation methodologies across its portfolio of consumer receivables.  Prior to that, Dan was a Senior Manager for GE Corporate Audit Staff, leading teams responsible for financial and operational reviews of GE businesses in North America and Asia.   

Dan holds a B.S. in Management Information Systems from the University of Dayton school of business and is a graduate of GE Information Management Leadership Program.
